WW2 Backpack Radio
foundWW2 Backpack Radio
An old WW2 backpack communications device (a field/man-pack radio) found by Elias while searching Abigail Wright's apartment (Session 5, 10:00 PM).
Listening to the receiver produced static, then a single male transmission:
"India Moon Dallas Extra Dominion Seere."
The line then went dead.
Analysis
- Seere is a Goetic demon (the 70th spirit of the Ars Goetia, a Prince of Hell) said to travel anywhere in an instant and to fetch things from afar — and to ride a winged horse (note, lightly: Horselover = "horse lover"). This is the second named Goetic spirit in the case after Purson.
- Dallas is the off-screen home of the Box 13 production. A WW2 radio in a Manhattan apartment naming Dallas is a seam crossover on the airwaves.
- The remaining words — India · Moon · Dallas · Extra · Dominion — read like call-words or an initialism (I·M·D·E·D?). Undeciphered. Recorded verbatim pending a key.
- Fits the building's pattern of anachronistic objects (cf. the 1933 Broadalbin stationery, the 50-year-old 10-B receipt) and of recordings that don't stay recordings (cf. The Microphone, Queen of Old Argyle).
