Operation India Moon

The job Dr. Barbus retained the crew for at the Gateway Bridges Restaurant (Session 8, on-screen) — the real purpose behind the Zielony birthday invitation. Codenamed INDIA MOON (heard colloquially as "Indian Moon"). A quiet missing-persons recovery.

The Brief

Objective: locate former operatives of Barbus's group.
The subjects were held at a psychiatric facility in Boston that itself has deep connections to the group. They had been committed for some time.
They are now missing. Each vanished on 28 AUG 2015, at approximately the same moment.
The police have not been alerted. The group wants them found without exposure.
Evidence provided: a handwritten roster of six names, Dr. Dallan's Business Card (pointing to the Dorchester House Psychiatric Facility), and a photograph of a message written on the wall of one operative's room — The Marking Time Message.
The book: before their incarceration, each operative had contact with a book of unnatural properties — one that goes by many titles (The King in Yellow / The Red Book).
Standing orders on any occult book recovered: report it. Beyond a cursory examination for title and author, it is not to be read.
Pay: 10% above the crew's normal contracted fee.

The Brief Is Not the Order

Barbus also handed over a **satellite phone**. When the crew called its number (Session 8), the voice **overrode the recovery job with a kill order**: *"Agent Executor is out of his depth. **Dr. Dallan is the target, and is to be eliminated.**"* The stated operation (find the operatives) and the phoned operation (murder Dallan) may be **two different jobs wearing one codename.**

Why It Matters

The Codename Is a Ten-Year-Old Broadcast

**"India Moon"** was already spoken by the WW2 Backpack Radio in Abigail's apartment in **Session 5** — *"India Moon Dallas Extra Dominion Seere"* (Seere = a Goetic demon). A phrase from a dead field radio in a missing painter's hoard is now the **live codename** of a Boston operation. This job is a **continuation of the Abigail Wright Case** by another route.

The One Rule They've Already Broken

"Do not read the book" is the operation's single hard rule — and Beckett read The Red Book on the plane **last session,** hearing the name **Hastur.** The crew is hired to recover the object already working on one of them.

The Group Is Losing Its Own

These are the **group's own operatives** — read the book, got committed to the group's own facility, then **vanished en masse on a single date.** Same shape as the night-floors tenants and David: read → committed → gone. The group is feeding its people into the same machine it studies.
