Dorchester House Psychiatric Facility

48 Norwood Street, Boston, MA 02122. A private, "boutique" psychiatric hospital specializing in severe PTSD and violence-related mental illness, marketed almost exclusively to veterans, police, firefighters, and EMS — the exact population Operation India Moon's missing operatives were drawn from. Identified from Dr. Dallan's Business Card and the facility's own website (sdhpf.com, mined Session 8). This is the Boston facility "deeply connected to the group" where Barbus's operatives were committed before they vanished.

The Building's History

Built 1912 by the Boston Catholic Archdiocese as a boys' school, then an orphanage until 1944.
Acquired and renovated 1986 by the St. Dymphna Foundation (a foundational grant still funds it).
Opened as a private psychiatric hospital on 30 AUG 1989.

Children, Again — and a Saint of the Mad

A **boys' school and orphanage** converted into an asylum rhymes with Daribondi's logbook of **child deaths** and drownings, and the building's own child-shelter past. **St. Dymphna** is the Catholic **patron saint of the insane and of nervous disorders** (and of incest victims) — the group named its funding arm after the saint of the very people it collects. And it opened **30 AUG 1989**; the operatives vanished **28 AUG 2015** — on the near-anniversary.

The Architect — It's a Daribondi Building

The crew's research established that Dorchester House was designed by the same architect as the McAllistor Building — Asa Daribondi, the dream-architect and suspected child-drowner behind the New York apartment's impossible geometry.

If It's His, It Has Night Floors

Daribondi built "**nine mundane-looking NYC buildings**" that hide dream-architecture behind ordinary façades (The Daribondi Books) — the McAllistor among them. Dorchester House being **his** means this locked Boston ward is very likely **another such building**, with its own night floors folded inside. It also **extends his footprint past the "nine" and out of NYC** — and since he **vanished in 1950 / was declared dead 1960**, any credit to him on the **1986 renovation** is another **posthumous permit**, exactly like the 1953 McAllistor refit signed by a man three years gone.

Known Rooms

The Cotton Candy Room — a common/meeting room where the committed crew were told to gather the morning after admission (Session 8). The carnival-sweet name fits the case's clown/carnival motif (the site's "Clown Delivery Service" 404, Manuel's Clown Painting) — a childlike, too-cheerful name for a room on a locked ward.

The Door Commits You (Session 8)

The crew reached the facility, used the Level 3 card at the front door, and stepped in. The world went black. They woke each alone in a bare room — frameless bed, no clothes or belongings, blue pajamas — and woke as their actor selves, not their characters. They had been committed as patients.

The Threshold Is the Trap

Crossing the threshold **admitted them** — matching the site's intake language (belongings confiscated, electronics removed, patients in facility dress). Like The Night Floors beyond the McAllistor Building roof door, **the door is the event**: it doesn't lead into the building so much as **into the building's authority over you.** They are now inside, isolated, and inventoried as inmates. The Layout — Three Floors

The site describes "distinct wings across three floors," a tiered security ladder:

First Floor — Integrative Environment: most open; stabilized patients; access to the administration wing.
Second Floor — Progressive Support: medium security; increased privileges.
Third Floor — Enhanced Care & Observation: highest security; video surveillance, security mirrors, bed restraints, and patient room doors kept open during the day for constant observation. Access to the admin wing is cut off from this floor.

Security throughout: wrought-iron fence, gatehouse, cameras, motion sensors, reinforced non-opening windows, a visitor sign-in log, and confiscation of belongings on entry. Interior palette: muted tones with "warm, burnished gold" accents in communal spaces.

The Night Floors, Rendered as a Ward

A **three-floor building with a tiered structure**, where the **top floor is the locked one you cannot leave**, doors are held open for observation, windows don't open, and the walls are accented in **gold** — this is the night floors rendered as a real psychiatric ward. Tara's dream of "a hospital I can't leave," David, and "the one who does not leave" all point here. And the admin wing being **sealed off from the third floor** mirrors the building's impossible internal geography.

They Confiscate the Book on the Way In

Restricted patient items include **"symbolic objects, or texts deemed counterproductive to the facility's therapeutic milieu"** and unapproved journals. The facility that houses operatives who read *the book of many titles* explicitly **takes occult texts at the door** — which is very likely **where the recoverable books of Operation India Moon ended up.**

The Staff Roster Is Seeded With the Case's Names

A Goetic **demon** (Samigina) works the nurses' station; an attendant is named **David**; the security chief is a **Vance.** The people running the ward carry the names of the group's demons, the night-floors captives, and the cast itself.

Latin Tells Buried in the Copy

Admissions page: "Horrendum est in manus Dei viventis incidere" — "It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God" (Hebrews 10:31). This is the same line as Wade's childhood recording ("…to fall into the realm of a mad god") and the group-photo whisper ("…the hands of the living God").
About page: "Lorem ipsum… Ubi est ampulla mea?" — "Where is my bottle/flask?" The recurring bottle that names the next inductee (The Group Photograph, the "JL Bottle" on the Hotel Broadalbin Map).
