Dallan's motto — *things become possible if we want them badly enough* — is the case's whole thesis: Daribondi's **"thought buildings,"** the The King in Yellow logic where wanting a thing hard enough **remakes the world** (The World Remade). This is not a therapist's aphorism; it's a **statement of method.** He runs a locked ward for people who read the book, and he believes wanting makes things real.
Two Richards, and a "Dallan"
The party invitation was for **Richard Zielony's** birthday (a cover); the facility director is **Richard** Dallan. And **"Dallan"** sits one letter from **"Dallas"** — the word the WW2 Backpack Radio paired with "India Moon" (*"India Moon Dallas Extra Dominion Seere"*). The codename, the city, and the director's name rhyme.
Relationship to Barbus and the Group
- Dr. Barbus (the client) is retaining the crew to recover operatives held at Dallan's facility. Whether Barbus and Dallan are allies, rivals, or the same faction turning on itself is unknown — Barbus wants them found; Dallan is where they were kept.
Marked for Death (Session 8)
A voice reached through Barbus's sat phone and named Dallan directly: "Agent Executor is out of his depth. Dr. Dallan is the target, and is to be eliminated." Whoever runs that phone wants the facility's director dead — turning Operation India Moon from a recovery into an assassination.
